Day 8: Wednesday 26th April 2006,  Alfriston to Eastbourne, Meads Village
Cloudy to start but ending the walk in sunshine

An excellent final leg to our SDW walk, and we enjoyed walking alongside the River Cuckmere to Lillington. We were now in familiar territory, as we had walked this stretch of the SDW to West Dean, Severn Sisters, Beachy Head to Eastbourne on the Severn Sisters Marathon in 1996.

We finished the walk in the sunshine and celebrated with non-alcoholic refreshments at the Kiosk Cafe at the end of the walk. We strolled to the seafront and phoned Keith to pick us up, who was at work, and so we sensibly went to the nearest pub, the Pilot, Meads Village, Eastbourne. This pub is only 5 minutes from the end of the SDW. It served Harvey's ales as well as Guinness for Dinae. A fine pub to finish the walk at.
